The true NIMBYs of the world are those who want to make the world green — so long as it’s not them who have to suffer for it.

Green power has come to mean generating electricity by burning taxpayer dollars.

"You could put a nudie club in Rosiere if you want to."

It is estimated that a Rosiere
strip club could create 22
jobs, bring nearly a million a
year into the Town of Cape
Vincent economy and
would save the Cape Elementary.

The nudie club comment was a quote in the Watertown Daily Times by Alan Wood, former Zoning Officer for the Town of Cape Vincent, NY.

Mr. Wood was referring to what he called grey areas in the present Town of Cape Vincent Zoning Laws that he had been working with for thirteen years.

Now, my first question is, "If you had been working with insufficient zoning laws for thirteen years, why didn't you encourage your Town Board to do something about those grey areas?"

And, my second question is, "So what is so wrong with having a strip joint in Rosiere?"

If you get your wind project and bring part time industrial "migrant" workers into Cape Vincent, a Rosiere Strip Joint would help keep some of that money in town." It would save them a trip to Syracuse or Ottawa.

Was Don Alexander there to give the strippers the pilot treatment?

Alan Wood employs illegal aliens on his farm, but can't stand the thought of pole dancers in Rosiere. What's wrong with this guy? If there was a nudie club in Rosiere, Alan would be one of the first to patronize the club. Great point, Rick - if the law sucks as Al suggests, then show us Al where you requested a change.

You could also build numerous garages, additions, decks, etc.for the last 13 years without obtaining the necessary permit or variance, because Al did such a ''professional''job as zoning enforcement officer. Hell, you could even insult and endanger your neighbors wellfare by erecting personal wind turbines practically in their backyards. You just had to ask Al to issue an illegal permit, which became his specialty.

The only real surprise here is that Al's reappointment was not contested for the last two years.

Strip joints are are viable and profitable. They do not need PILOTs. They do not need government welfare to ensure that the owners get rich like those rat bastards at the wind companies need.

If that is any sample of the kind of dancers they would bring in, I suggest they zone Rosiere, "Heavy entertainment".

Anon above brings an interesting point.
Nudie joints are a more legitimate business than industrial wind. Nudie joints make it on their own and a customer makes their own choice whether to go there.
Unlike industrial wind, not all the dancers and employees are whores.

You criticize Al for being wrong then you beg him to show you where the gray areas are. You people are two face bastards including you Rick. The b est thing that would happen is that you would be the first to use the club because you people have dogs, bowwows for wives. UGLEY HOLES.

Would the dancers be hired locally?
A few years back there were male strippers at Cap't Jacks and also a lady at Millens Bay.
Alan checked them out but didn't know what to do about them, due to the gray area of the zoning laws.
Many prominent housewives enjoyed the male show however.

Is that Addie on the pole in the picture?

Rather than lampoon Wood, which I plan to do verbally, I would like to know how Mr Bender will deal with those porous zoning laws...

Anonymous said...

So tell me 9:36...

How many wind turbines are you getting?

Anonymous said...

9:36?

Isn't industrial wind a wonderful thing?

Next time you see Bryan Stumpf, Darrel Aubertine, Tim Conboy, Marion Trieste, Julia Gosier, Gary King, Paul Mason, Peter Gross, Harold Wiley, D. Mason, M. Mason, M. Orivis, Beth White and all the gang green give them a big thanks on behalf of all of the citizens of Cape Vincent.

"those porous zoning laws..."

Hopefully the new laws will not be so porous. Put the wind overlay district three miles from the River. The Adult entertainment district? Perhaps Rosiere or Mud Bay. Al Wood is on to something.

Guess what? When Mickey is ready to run again, Uncle Harold and his best friend Gary King are going to make sure they don't forget to file on time.

When we get our wind farm can we put a big memorial on the Village Green with the names of all those who worked so hard for it?

Rick why are you so obsested with heavy people,is it maybe because you are. Your shirts get any tighter ,people are going to have to duck, your buttons are going to pop off.

Good grief...Wind has turned CV in the armpit of JefCo.
The Wiley Kingsters are turning the town into a spectacle. People are starting to think it is a zoo up there.

Doing the Wally Waddle. I stay back a few paces just to take in the full spectrum. OK, more than a few paces. Having grown up on a dairy farm I have the urge to get old Shep to herd them up out in the parking lot and load them up on a cattle truck. Some come in on those buses anyway and I can hear the axles breathe a sigh of relief when they get off the bus. Yup, once a week I go out for a nice cringe as I watch the breeding sows and welfare cows suck up those first of the month sales. Stacking those carts high with lard based snack food and toilet paper. It's no wonder windnuts don't care about the view. One or two of these behemoths around and who could see anything anyway. Some things in life are just too big for man to stand in their way.

Gives a whole new meaning to WOOD for ZEO. OK, take a vote fellas. Yup. Strip joint it is folks. Thank's Mr. WOOD.

From the looks of these comments you are very particular what you approve.

4:38 You make a hefty point. Gets right to the thick of it. The flesh of the matter is whether zoning is going to be established and enforced fairly. I think it's a matter of wind proponents who want enforcement and non enforcement according to their own wishes. If you go down the road to wind towers all over the place, what difference does it make if the distractions take even more of the quality and charm out of the town's appeal. It just shows the absurdity of the argument for wind while opposing other eyesores. ( sorry, ladies, just talking about a strip joint , not your bountiful beauty).

The possibility of having a new public venue to air our differences is quite titillating. I think we should take a poll on the matter. Making these poor women the butt of your humor is a cheap attempt to distract the issue which is to either allow our foreign friends to give Cape Vincent a better future, or leave it all behind us. I've bent over backwards and forwards and have done things no self respecting wife and mother should ever have to do, but I would do it again , and again, and again, if necessary. Don't let our decency sag any more than it has already. Wood is a strong hard leader, so give us Wood, and wind.

"Unlike industrial wind, not all the dancers and employees are whores."

Good point. Add that people like Conboy, Stumpf, Trieste, Gross. Like pimps, they seduce voters for wind and pimp them out to the community to do their whoring work for them.
The tactics of industrial wind are deplorable.

Other way around. Wind gives many Wood.

Seriously, Mr. Wood proved the point in his two WDT reports that he had no business being in that job.

Remember. Mr. Wood was in attendance the night Mickey Orvis and Donald Mason joined Mr. and Ms. Edsall in the conducting of an illegal and secret town planning board where they discussed how Tom Rienbeck was going to "handle" the explaining of the $160,000. wind development slush fund that Tom Was signing checks for and the Planning Board was getting free legal service from on the developer's tab.

They got caught by a video and sound recording.
Mickey Orvis, still on the board, lied about town business being conducted. Al Wood was there.

What a sad state of affairs. There are no leaders in Cape Vincent any longer. The area is left with jaded, poorly informed people trying to relive the 70's & 80,s. Careful, if SB wants to dish dirt and make ridiculous claims, others may do the same. People in glass houses, shouldn't throw stones!

1/21/12 7:35 AM ,,, Funny how people get away with stuff as long as it doesn't effect them. One or two people get screwed, so what right? Pretty soon a guy thinks he can do whatever he wants. So it's easy to see how things got out of hand. The virus grows.
