Matt Doheny for Congress endorsement update.
HAMILTON COUNTY REPUBLICANS ENDORSE MATT DOHENY FOR CONGRESS
LAKE PLEASANT – The Hamilton County Republican Committee unanimously endorsed Matt Doheny for the 21st Congressional District seat at their meeting Monday.
"The unanimous endorsement of Matt Doheny should be no shock to anyone in the north country,” said Bill Farber, chairman of the committee. “Matt is the hardest working candidate I have ever seen. Frankly, this is a huge district and he is everywhere. Matt's deep understanding of the north country and the Adirondacks is now even more important as we evaluate the new district."
Farber continued: "The committee logically concluded that there is nobody as well positioned as Matt to win in this district. Clearly, Matt's knowledge of the people also makes him the best candidate to represent this district in Washington. The committee was clear that this is a critical time for America. 'We the people' need to be represented in Washington. We do not need another cycle of Washington trying to tell the people what they allegedly need. This is not a case of the people not understanding; this is a case of Washington not listening. There is a reason Congress has a historically low approval rating - and that reason is accountability. 'We the people' need to hold them accountable. That effort starts now."
Doheny said: “I thank Chairman Farber and the committee for their continued support of my candidacy. I’m here for all 4,836 county residents, and promise to listen to all who wish to share their concerns. I look forward to working hard in Washington to provide incentive for people to visit, live and work in Hamilton County and the north country.”
This is the latest in a series of endorsements for Doheny, a Watertown businessman.
