Political dirty tricks start early in the Doheny-Owens Campaign.

DOHENY CAMPAIGN RESPONDS TO HIT PIECE PUBLISHED BY IRRESPONSIBLE BLOGGER

Tonight, Gawker’s Maureen O’Connor played right into the hands of Democratic operatives by manufacturing a story about two photographs that only she believes suggests impropriety between Matt Doheny and a female friend.

Two on-record sources told the blogger that nothing inappropriate took place. But that didn’t stop her from spreading lies in a desperate attempt to score page views and generate controversy.

“These pictures demonstrate nothing more than two old friends joking around as they sat with other friends,” said Doheny campaign spokesman Jude Seymour.  “It’s sad that Democratic operatives would lay in wait as a group of friends enjoyed a nice evening, but then the Washington special interests will stop at nothing to keep Bill Owens in Congress.”

Seymour said the photos were taken on the patio at a restaurant in Washington, D.C. when Doheny was in town for meetings and a major party fundraiser.  He said that Doheny was out with a bunch of friends when Doheny and a friend embraced and a picture was taken.

Doheny’s fiancĂ© also weighed in on the alleged encounter.

“Matt and I are looking forward to being married this summer,” said Mary Reidy, who will marry Doheny in June. “This is a very special time in our lives. I am deeply saddened at the state of journalism and politics that a so-called ‘news’ source would run a picture so out of context.”

What someone should do now is catch a picture of Owens actually representing the North Country instead of Washington.

    Jude Seymore's comment:

"These pictures demonstrate nothing more than two old friends joking around as they sat with other friends,” Seymour said."

Nothing like good publicity to bring Matt forth in this campaign. People will pay attention to a soap opera while they ignore politics. Many more will now follow Mary and Matt through the campaign and right into Congress.

Yesterday I met an old friend at the post office and we shared a quick embrace. Good thing people in the Bp office didn't have a camera handy. For some campaigns, this is all they have left.

Talk about sleazy. You stole this from NewzJunky.

  6. Correction. I did not "steal" this from NewzJunky.

I am on the Jude Seymore-Matt Doheny campaign press release list.

I get all of Matt's releases at the same time as others do.

If I had taken it from NewsJunky, I would have credited them as the source.

Furthermore, NewzJunky is to be complimented for not only providing its readers with links to local blogs but also they often link directly to local blog stories as they do with JLL.

Keep visiting JLL for some of Matt's latest releases.

More political crap to have to wade through. And why is a DEm to blame for this?

Other than digging up dirt, what other chance has Bill got? He is supporting President Obama's massive and corrupt industrial wind lobby and the PTCs. EVEN THOUGH HE IS FULLY AWARE THAT WIND IS DESTROYING THE HOME VALUES AND SOCIAL STRUCTURE OF MANY OF THE NORTH COUNTRY TOWNS HE IS SUPPOSE TO BE REPRESENTING AND PROTECTING.

The jobs Owens touts are part time and come from other states at a cost to the taxpayer of millions of dollars per job.

I am surprised that you have to ask that question.
    Here is the simple answer.
    Matt is a Republican.
    Bill is a Democrat.
However, giving you the benefit of your asking, there is always the possibility that Kellie Greene has put the political dirty tricksters onto the heels of Matt. However, that takes big money that we don't believe she has.
Bottom line is that Owens is desperate and has little record to run on other than being a nice guy who risks getting traffic tickets while speeding in and out of our part of the North Country.

This will be a distraction played out on places like the Mayor's blog that thrive on boozing and womanizing. But at some point we will get back to public service and Owens will have to defend what his interest might be other than supporting the failed policies that have damaged the North Country for years. What has Owens ever done to highlight the unique potential of the Golden Crescent, Oswego Shores and Rivers, and the Thousand Island Regions?
Add to the that, Black Lake. The answer is, nothing!

At least some have a Dem party. Ours in CV was destroyed by Aubertine and his Wiley relatives. We need to go to a primary. Masons, Orvis, King, and Wiley brought shame to our party last year with their illegal voting law and announced prejudice against and intimidation of registered voters who were not going to vote their way. Cape Dems will not be real again until we get the primary.

Wiley's They are all related to each other. A lot like to think they're not related, but folks check out that family tree and see how they are tied as one Wiley clan. Sucks to have that last name.

I would give anything to have Wiley as a last name.

Congressman Bill Owens is trading away our homes for big foreign industrial wind and the Mayor and the WDT ignore. But when a man kisses a girl that is not wearing his ring the local media wakes up. Geeeze!
